That's what he said to me. I understand where he's coming from. I can't say I don't. I understand the meaning of never looking back. To never regret a decision you've made or an action you've done. But at the same time, looking back implies memories. How could you not look back at your own memories? Must I remind you that your memories are what make you who you are? Your memories and your past practically define you. It's where you remember the mistakes you've made and the things you've done to fix yourself. How could you possibly say that? When someone so dear to you is suddenly out of your life? When someone who depended solely on you for sanity is now without you? If only you could see what you're doing to her. But you don't even care. Can you see the toll it has taken on her? No? Then that's your fault. I understand that you feel the need to move with your life and finish writing that chapter of your life, but do you have to do it to this extent? And for what?
Your memories define you. I can't say your past defines you because you might not be too proud of your past. But your memories are forever a part of you. There's no changing that. They remind you of the mistakes you've made. They remind you of the people you've met. Those memories are what has created the person you are today. To forget someone, is to forget your own life. To forget your own life, is insanity. To forget your own life is to forget yourself.
In this life, people are going to come and go. But there will always be that one person. Who made the largest impact on you as a person. They're that one exception. You're her exception.
I do realize that some of the content of this post contradict each other. But I'm too lazy to change it. Live with it.
